From an Objective Angle: Taylor Bennett
It’s really hard to start without mentioning this… I’ve always thought Chance the Rapper was an artist with undeniable talent, regardless if you like his music style because objectively I think he can rap (as his name suggests). Despite Chance’s well-known talents, I honestly wasn’t too familiar with his younger brother, Taylor Bennett, initially. I thought it would have been one of those cases where a celebrity’s fame bleeds into their sibling line, creating an illusion where the sibling also is talented, while having an easier access to fame. However, I think this should be a case by case situation, and with Chance’s younger brother, it’s not entirely true. Taylor does have skills, as I have listened and you will be able to hear for yourself.
Although, young and still emerging, Taylor seems to work really hard on making meaningful music, and we can definitely see and appreciate that in each of his releases. They’re relatable, and also believable. I feel like you might mistake Bennett’s voice as Chance’s when you first listen to him because after all they are related, and they must have some similarities to some degree. Heck, they look so much like each other! However, I’m not trying to introduce Bennett as Chance’s little brother; just plain and simply as an artist.
He can sing, he can rap, and he can create deep, emotional feels in you. I’d say his music is the chillest. He himself knows how to be comfortable in his own skin, and his music definitely encourages that for his fans, too. If you’re into music that’s mainly about vibes, go for this guy. For this article, I don’t want to put Taylor in a shadow of Chance, but let’s face it— it’s hard to not do that. But then again, if we just hear Taylor on his own and just realize how great he really is, I think that’s already something big. Even if one brother is more famous, he is Chance’s brother, and vice versa. In this moment, Taylor Bennett is just an awesome rapper. So, without all the titles under his name, let’s have a listen to the refreshingly talented Taylor Bennett:
