Hollywould: ‘Saw,’ ‘Sandman,’ and ‘Black Panther 2’
The film and television business moves at a mile a minute, so keeping up with the latest news can be a little daunting. Not to worry—we have your back. In Hollywould, we’ll round up the industry developments you need to know. Here’s what you may have missed:
Saw
Chris Rock’s Saw reboot has snagged Samuel L. Jackson, per Bloody Disgusting. He’ll be playing Rock’s father.
Uncharted
The video game adaptation from Dan Trachtenberg won’t be a story pulled from the games, according to an interview with GamesRadar+.
“[I] have been approached with different versions of this tale and have always been not that interested in it because I didn’t really want to trace the game. I didn’t really feel like it was at all worthy of making a video game adaptation, [if] we’re just gonna copy what the game is and just serve people a lesser experience than what they’ve experienced in such an incredible way. If Naughty Dog so chose to make another Uncharted game featuring Nate and Sully…this movie’s story is probably the story that they would want to tell.”
Sandman
Neil Gaiman revealed that Netflix’s upcoming Sandman adaptation will be eleven episodes long:
The first season will be eleven episodes. That's the start of it all. Preludes and Nocturnes and a little bit more. https://t.co/tOlfJ1kS1y

I'm hoping we can make something on television that feels as personal and true as the best of the Sandman comics did. Just set thirty years later than Sandman the comic. https://t.co/Wy8y4aDbdE

Black Panther 2
Speaking with BET, Kevin Feige quashed rumors by saying Michael B. Jordan won’t be back as Erik Killmonger:
“The honest answer to that is that is pure rumor and speculation, because Mr. Coogler is just only in recent weeks sitting down at his keyboard and beginning to outline the movie. It’s early, so nothing is set yet in any way that far, because Mr. Coogler is sitting down and will share it with Nate Moore and myself in coming weeks.”
Bill & Ted Face the Music
Sorry, but set photos reveal that Keanu’s shaved his magnificent beard for the upcoming Bill & Ted sequel:

The Mask
Talking with Forbes, the creator of The Mask, Mike Richardson, mentioned he has a woman in mind to take over the role if there’s a reboot on the table:
“I’d like to see a really good physical comedian [in the role]. I have one in mind, but I’m not gonna say her name. We have to do a lot of convincing for this particular actor, but we’ll see … You never know what’s coming in the future. We have some ideas.”
