Orgasms, we all love them, right? Who knew that something that feels so good is actually incredible for your overall health. Here are some benefits we can vouch for (keep in mind, this goes for both men and women):
Improves immune system: Studies have shown that having an orgasm at least 2 times per week, will boost your immune system by 30%. How cool is that?! Say goodbye to Emergen-C. “Sexual arousal and orgasms increase the absolute number of leukocytes and natural killer cells in peripheral blood, which helps boost the immune system.”
Decreases stress levels/anxiety: While having an orgasm, dopamine is released, which is the “happy hormone” in the brain. Orgasms also help balance your hormone levels, which can attribute to anxiety and stress. If you’re feeling anxious, take a deep breath, and allow yourself to enjoy the ride. The benefits will be worth it.
Sleep aid: Say goodbye to insomnia… Have you ever slept like a baby after a good orgasm? That’s because orgasms release a cocktail of hormones that promote quality sleep. Partner sex releases about four times more “sleepy hormones” than masturbation, but hey, something is better than nothing.
Keeps men focused: A female orgasm can actually keep a man’s attention because they aim to please their woman. We all know women can fake orgasms, so men feel it is their duty to make sure their wife, girlfriend, friend, or whatever reach that point. Also, studies show that post-orgasm, men gain this sense of power and focus better at work; they are more attentive to detail and happier overall.
Women become free: Orgasms are literally built on complete awareness, and females become effectively blind to any other stimulants, either physically or mentally. A study has shown that parts “of the female brain regulating feelings, the amygdala and hippocampus, actually “turn off” in the build-up to an orgasm. Women become completely focussed on sensation and pleasure, rather than registering love, worry, or anything else. The part of the brain regulating behavior “turns off”, too, so they’re not controlling themselves out of fear of judgment.”
Live longer and less depressed: It has been scientifically discovered that both men and women who are sexually active live longer than those who are not. Also, oxytocin, which is considered the love and bonding hormone that’s released during an orgasm, helps your body feel more relaxed and less morose. Side note: Research has found that as you age, the better your orgasms feel.
Sex is a sensitive topic among many people, but we are here to share that sex is great for us; specifically, if we reach the climax. It shouldn’t be so taboo, especially between yourself and your partner. There are countless benefits to having an orgasm for both a man and a woman, and we should feel comfortable enough to let go; experience the better things in life!
