ON WAX: WALE HITS WITH ‘WOW… THAT’S CRAZY,’ MASTER P PURCHASES HOUSE OF GLORY WRESTLING, & CASANOVA’S DEBUT ALBUM
WALE’S WOW… THAT’S CRAZY HAS ARRIVED
DC rapper, Wale, has dropped his sixth studio album titled Wow… That’s Crazy. It is a smooth rap-a-thon that mixes R&B aesthetics with wavy vibe records to dance to. The overall aesthetic is greatly assisted with the help of many R&B features from acts like 6LACK, Jeremih, Jacquees, Pink Sweat$, Bryson Tiller, and Ari Lennox. Although most tracks are sweet-sounding, Wale comes out with “Routine” with Rick Ross and Meek Mill, as well as “Poledancer” with Megan Thee Stallion to add some variation. All in all, Wale delivers a cohesive project, and a pretty good one at that.
CASANOVA RELEASED HIS DEBUT ALBUM
When you think of hip-hop artists with loads of layers, but have kept quiet, you’ll probably at some point land on Casanova 2X. Dropping his debut album, Behind These Scars, Casanova shows great depth with tracks like “Jail Call” and “Could’ve Been Somethin'” to just name a few. Whether or not you enjoy Casanova, the album is definitely worth a listen.
THE RICH SHOOTAS DROPPED “LOADED”
Q Da Fool links with Young Manni and AyeeK for “LOADED.” The Rich Shootas move one after the other on the track, but it flows effortlessly. Seeing the unity amongst the DMV artists, one has to question the possibility of a collab tape that may be on its way.
LIL’ KIM HAS RETURNED
In an age of endless female rap talent, Lil’ Kim has officially made a return with her first album in 14 years titled 9. Finding the number to be her spiritual awakening number, the deciding factor was a no brainer. Hosting nine tracks with feature artists City Girls, Rick Ross, OT Genasis, and Rich The Kid, it’ll be interesting to see just how well Kim fits in this new era.
G$ LIL RONNIE X SAUCE BRAZY “GANG TALK”
G$ Lil Ronnie unites with Sauce Brazy for another heater. The two show fair chemistry on “Gang Talk” where they are able to go back-and-forth without too much trouble.
88RISING’S HEAD IN THE CLOUDS II
Hip-hop’s premier force in Asian acts, 88rising, has released their newest compilation. Head In The Clouds II is another album of poppy tracks with the label’s collective figures. The usual suspects of Rich Brian, Joji, Niki, Higher Brothers, and August 08 are all here, alongside some friends: Major Lazer, Swae Lee and GoldLink, and other Asian acts. While most of these artists have their own unique style, they all came together to make dance tracks that could easily find their way onto the charts with the right calls.
MASTER P JOINED THE WRESTLING INDUSTRY
In what appears to be the ripest time to a wrestling fan, Master P makes an incredible move, purchasing House of Glory Wrestling. Seeing the rise of promotions like AEW and the ever-growing fan bases of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Reality of Wrestling, and Ring of Honor, the landscape appears to be an oasis of opportunity with a near endless talent pool. Much like AEW, he’s shown interest in recruiting CM Punk if the opportunity ever presents itself. While not much else is known, HOG’s next event is fittingly being advertised as “No Limit.”
