Rae Sremmurd Returns with a Three-Disc Album
The duo dropped three new songs off their upcoming album
It’s been two years since the hip-hop duo, Rae Sremmurd, has released an album. However, the wait is over… kind of.
They first released their stand-alone single, “Perplexing Pegasus,” off their upcoming album, SremmLife 3, back in August 2017. Since then, fans have just been waiting and waiting for something new to drop. Although the release date of the album still hasn’t been confirmed, they bought some time with their fans by blessing them with a little sneak peek as to what they can except from their new album by recently releasing four more songs: “T’d Up,” “Powerglide,” “Hurt to Look” and “Brxnk Truck.”
Before Rae Sremmurd excited their fans with new music, they announced on Twitter that SremmLife 3 will be a triple disc album. Swae Lee, one half of the Rae Sremmurd duo, wrote, “One side Rae Sremmurd, one side Slim Jxmmi, and one side Swae Lee.” Swae Lee’s solo song is titled “Hurt to Look,” Slim Jxmmi’s is called “Brxnks Truck,” while “Powerglide” is by the duo.
A three-disc album is not not very typical of artists for countless reasons, but Rae Sremmurd is continuing their tradition of being trend setters with this album:
“We ain’t artists that just drop trash music. Every time we drop, it’s crazy music. We’re trying to give our fans super quality over quantity,” said Swae Lee. “Now we’re giving them hella music; one project, all good music, different cadences. They’re going to want to hear every song. They’re all just dope as f**k. It’s going to be history.”
Despite the duo only releasing a total of five songs off their upcoming album, it’s safe to say that this album is going to be another big hit with their fans. Not only can listeners expect to have their ears flooded with a mixture of number one hip-hop hits and soothing songs, but they can also except hours of music due to their three-disc set.
“T’d Up”
This song reminds me a lot of “MotorSport” by Migos Ft. Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. It has a very similar vibe and beat, and it’s the perfect song to listen to while driving in the car. “T’d Up” is the perfect mellow turn up song.
“Powerglide”
If you’re trying to get hyped up, whether it be while going on a run or pregaming for a night out, this song is destined to get you pumped up and ready for anything.
“Hurt to Look”
Swae Lee’s first single off Swaecation Vol. 1, (his solo side of the album) has a mellow, yet upbeat vibe that will for sure be played on loop at kickbacks all over the world. Stoners will also get their fair use out of this song due to its soothing beat.
“Brxnks Truck”
Slim Jxmmi’s first solo song off his album, Jxmtroduction, does not disappoint. It is the perfect head bobbing beat that is sure to be a huge hit at clubs and bars with tons of drunk girls screaming, “THIS IS MY SONG,” as they run out to the dance floor.
