The Drop – Benny Blanco, Bastille, & Sinéad Harnett
The Drop is us cutting through the massive jungle of new music that’s been released over the last seven days. We sharpen our proverbial machetes and cut through the shit to get you to the content that you need to be listening to.
This is The Drop.

benny blanco, Juice WRLD, & Brandon Urie – “Roses”
Breakout artist of the year, Juice WRLD, is rounding out the year with another feature on benny blanco’s new release, “Roses,” which also features Panic! At The Disco’s frontman, Brandon Urie. The sad and somber love story that is “Roses” has Juice WRLD and Brandon Urie getting their hearts broken and creating one of my favorite songs this week. The single is featured on benny blanco’s new project, FRIENDS KEEP SECRETS, which is out now.
Travis Scott X Skrillex (Whethan Flip) – “SICKO MODE”
This remix of a remix cannot go unnoticed. Whethan stepped up to the plate to exhibit his remix of the certified banger that is Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE.” With a taste of Skrillex’s flip, Whethan then takes the track on a path of his own filled with grimy twists and turns. This is another banger of a remix to add to the repertoire.
Seeb & Bastille – “Grip”
Bastille is dipping into the dance scene once again with their latest single, “Grip” featuring Seeb. A blend of pop, rock, and dance turned the track into a euphoria of sounds that pulls me back in over and over again. “Grip” is the perfect follow-up to Bastille’s chart-topping hit with Marshmello, “Happier,” and continues on a similar journey where dance and alternative music become one.
Astrid S – “Closer”
Norwegian singer, Astrid S, gives us a sweet and simple pop track. Her swift tones and softness towards a simple production, making this track one of my favorite additions to this week. This newcomer is one to watch as her rise in pop music continues into 2019.
Sinéad Harnett – “Lessons”
Sinéad Harnett never fails to get her listeners feeling all of the feels. Her voice and lyrics get me every time, and “Lessons” is not any different. This track is a story of the prospect of new love and the fear that comes along with that is told so eloquently by Harnett.
Don Diablo & Nate Dogg – “I Got Love”
Don Diablo’s latest official release is an absolute dance banger. Fans have been waiting for this official release of “I Got Love” for some time, and for me, it was worth the wait. He returns in Don Diablo fashion with a feel good and electric track, featuring Nate Dogg.
Rømans – “Animals”
Rømans brings all the silk and sultry to the table with his latest single, “Animals.” His vocals continue to surprise me with every single one of his new releases, however, this track is definitely a new favorite from the newcomer artist.
