The Drop – benny blanco & Mike Posner
The Drop is us cutting through the massive jungle of new music that’s been released over the last seven days. We sharpen our proverbial machetes and cut through the shit to get you to the content that you need to be listening to.
This is The Drop.

benny blanco, Calvin Harris, & Miguel – “I Found You/ Nilda’s Story”
Benny Blanco teamed up with Calvin Harris and Miguel to help tell the story of Nilda and her son, Keydan, who are immigrants from Honduras. The song’s music video is filmed like a documentary that showcases their journey to the United States. “I Found You/ Nilda’s Story” is so peaceful and endearing, and is already one of my favorite releases this new year.
Mike Posner – “Move On”
Mike Posner’s latest release is a tribute to both Avicii, who committed suicide in 2018, and his late father who died from brain cancer. The song travels down an all acoustic path and expresses plenty of emotion about his current state. This track comes from his upcoming album, A Real Good Kid, which is set to be released later this month.
Dermot Kennedy – “For Island Fires and Family”
Dermot Kennedy is one of my absolute favorite artists. He has mastered the art of a beautiful acoustic song, and his latest release is yet another track in that wheelhouse. “For Island Fires and Family” is an emotional release where his vocals absolutely soar.
Wild Youth – “Making Me Dance”
Irish band, Wild Youth, released their fun and funky new track titled “Making Me Dance.” Its wavy guitar riffs and falsetto vocals make this song impossible to not bop along to.
