The Drop – Bruno Mars, Hozier, & Jai Wolf
The Drop is us cutting through the massive jungle of new music that’s been released over the last seven days. We sharpen our proverbial machetes and cut through the shit to get you to the content that you need to be listening to.
This is The Drop.

Cardi B & Bruno Mars – “Please Me”
Bruno Mars and Cardi B released their latest collab, “Please Me,” and once again I am here for this duo. The track creates a ’90s R&B throwback with the croons of Bruno Mars and a swift flow from Cardi, making this my favorite release of the week.
Betty Who – “Language”
Betty Who is coming off the release of her new album, Betty, and this is a shining moment for the pop singer as she takes a bigger, bolder step into the pop game. Redefining her sound and taking leaps into a new realm, comes full circle on her track titled”Language.” It is sassy and sultry across the board, as well as an instant bop that is begging to be sung along to.
Kygo & Valerie Broussard – “Think About You”
Kygo released his latest single, “Think About You,” to coincide with Valentine’s Day, so of course, this track is all about love. Kygo enlisted Valerie Broussard for her big ballad vocals—and her voice matched with Kygo’s melodic house beat make this song about a long lost love as grand as ever.
Hozier – “Dinner & Diatribes”
We are closing in on the release date of Hozier’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, Wasteland, Baby!, which is set to release on March 1st. “Dinner and Diatribes” is the latest release from his upcoming album, and it is a playful take on what a relief it is to leave a social engagement. While it is lyrically playful, Hozier’s vocals continue to soar and remind me how excited I am for this upcoming album.
Jai Wolf & Day Wave – “Your Way”
Jai Wolf takes us on a wavy ride with his latest release, “Your Way,” featuring Day Wave. Fusing together the simplicities of indie rock with vibey synths and melodies that have remnants of Jai’s “Indian Summer,” this track feels like an absolute dream. Jai Wolf is set to release his debut album this coming April, and with each new release, he has me getting more and more hyped for it.
