THE DROP – FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS, GRYFFIN, & TOVE LO
The Drop is us cutting through the massive jungle of new music that’s been released over the last seven days. We sharpen our proverbial machetes and cut through the shit to get you to the content that you need to be listening to.
This is The Drop.

Gryffin, Gorgon City, & AlunaGeorge – “Baggage”
A powerhouse of dance music artists have come together to create one of my favorite releases from this week. Gryffin, Gorgon City, and AlunaGeorge collaborate on their new house heavy track, “Baggage,” and we get a little taste from each artist’s repertoire. However, with all of them together, this song is absolutely magnetic. This is a back-to-back that would be a phenomenon to see.
Fitz and The Tantrums – “All The Feels”
Fitz and The Tantrums have released their latest album, All The Feels, and the self-titled/ opening track really sums up the all-around feeling of the album. Each track keeps tempo with Fitz’s lighthearted indie rock vibe, and it feels like a continuation story about self-worth and love. With a few political takes here and there, the album is fresh and fun; it is the perfect welcome back for Fitz and The Tantrums.
Tove Lo – “Sweettalk my Heart”
Tove Lo has released her latest album, Sunshine Kitty, and in all its electropop glory, the album is funky and full of Tove Lo ballads. “Sweettalk my Heart” is the unconventional love song that involves lust, love, and lying, but in a captivating way with a moody electronic beat that Tove Lo continues to impress with. Sunshine Kitty is another exciting project from Tove Lo that is a must-listen.
Alicia Keys & Miguel – “Show Me Love”
You can catch me feeling all of the feels when it comes to the new song from Alicia Keys and Miguel. “Show Me Love” is sultry and sweet, and it’s the perfect mixture from two of my favorite R&B artists. Alicia Keys and Miguel really take this one to the next level.
Bea Miller & Snakehips – “NEVER GONNA LIKE YOU”
Bea Miller brings out the electropop side to Snakehips with their new track, “NEVER GONNA LIKE YOU.” The single is simple, as well as lets Bea Miller takeover with vocals from start to finish. Snakehips has become one of my favorite producers over the last several years, and continues to produce for all aspects of music. I can expect to hear more from both artists in the upcoming year.
