Jaden Smith – ERYS
Jaden Smith embraces hip-hop from all different angles on his latest album, ERYS. It is a hypnotic story that I cannot pull away from, as he gives us a taste of every type of sound that is dominating the charts. From trap to rock, to electronic and all the way back to emo rap, this album has everything. It opens the Pandora’s box of hip-hop with every type of subgenre intertwined with the next. A magnetic and innovative take on music, Jaden continues to surprise and impress me with his outlook on the world and how he transforms that into his work.
Ed Sheeran & YEBBA – “Best Part of Me”
A sweet serenade that brings me back to the original Ed Sheeran, think “Give Me Love” or “The A Team,” but with a fresh acoustic and collaboration with YEBBA. The song is gentle and serene as the two ebb and flow across the ballad, making it as lovely as a love song can be. This is another new track from Sheeran off of his brand new album, No. 6 Collaborations Project, that released today— July 12th.
Blink-182 – “Happy Days”
In the tune of heartache, Blink-182 begs for better days on their new track, “Happy Days.” The song comes from their upcoming album, which doesn’t have a set date or title yet—however, it is supposed to be released later this year. Blink gives us their nostalgic sounds, as bassist Mark Hoppus takes the reigns on the somber track and gives us all the sounds of 2000s rock music.
Moksi & Ookay – “Downtown”
This new track from Moksi and Ookay deserves to be turned all the way up and played at whatever party you go to next. This disco-inspired track, “Downtown,” brings the funk and the good vibes that are becoming a staple in Moksi’s sounds. With a little extra flavor of Ookay’s synths, the collab of the two makes this song an instant dance floor hit.
Post Malone & Young Thug – “Goodbyes”
Post Malone and Young Thug combine forces to create the depressing, yet electric track titled “Goodbyes.” Post is no stranger to getting himself in the feels when it comes to his music, and with the help of Thug, the songs takes on a new layer of content—leaving this song on repeat. Alongside the release of this track is the release of an extremely intense music video for it, but there is a PG-rated version of the same video. Watch the video here.
