THE DROP – PUSHA T, LANA DEL REY, & SNAKEHIPS
The Drop is us cutting through the massive jungle of new music that’s been released over the last seven days. We sharpen our proverbial machetes and cut through the shit to get you to the content that you need to be listening to.
This is The Drop.

Pusha T & Ms. Lauryn Hill – “Coming Home”
Pusha T’s newest track, “Coming Home,” is instant fire with a guest appearance from Ms. Lauryn Hill, and production from Kanye West and Mike Dean. He discusses the struggle to reach freedom in more ways than one, but still trying to come out strong on the other side of life. Along with the release of this track, Pusha T has partnered with The Buried Alive Project and The Decarceration Collective to launch the ‘Third Strike Coming Home’ campaign that aims to free people serving life imprisonment under the outdated 3 Strikes Drug Law.
Lana Del Rey – Norman Fucking Rockwell
On Lana Del Rey’s latest album, Norman Fucking Rockwell, she weaves us in and out of ‘60s and ‘70s surf rock sounds, along with some soft and sweet ballads. She walks us down many different paths of love, self-realization, and where our world is at and where it’s heading. This album feels like the Lana I fell in love with so many years ago, and now her voice sounds at home and the lyrics tell her most grand stories yet. Norman Fucking Rockwell feels like a California daydream that is tragic, but lovely all at the same time.
Skrillex, Boys Noize, & Ty Dolla $ign – “Midnight Hour”
This new track from Skrillex, Boys Noize, and Ty Dolla $ign is so ready for the clubs and probably every Vegas pool party. Their track, “Midnight Hour,” is full of energy and takes on a fast pace persona right from the start. This is the third collaboration from Skrillex and Ty Dolla $ign, but now with the help from Boys Noize. This track is undeniably catchy.
Snakehips & Anna of the North – “Summer Fade”
Summer has ended, but there is still time for just one more summer track. Anna of the North comes in with smooth vocals that is accompanied by Snakehips’ carefree beat on “Summer Fade” that helps round out these last few sunny months. This one is a perfect toast to the season changing.
Post Malone – “Circles”
Another new single from Post Malone and a tracklist announcement of his upcoming album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, has me all over the place excited. The track titled “Circles” is a wavy release that channels a more rock influence from Post, and it is yet another track from him that just needs to be left on repeat to enjoy over and over again. Post Malone’s upcoming album is set to release this Friday.
Dillon Francis – “GO OFF (Nuthin’ 2 It)”
Dillon Francis has given us the first taste from his upcoming mixtape, Magic Is Real, which is set to release this November. Dillion’s track, “GO OFF (Nuthin’ 2 It),” is a funky house beat that is beyond festival stage ready. It takes a more simple route, yet it is still completely electric and vibey. You can listen to this track, as well as his Coachella 2019 live set now.
